David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis is among five recipients of the Astral Harold Greenberg Fund’s English-Language Program in its Equity Investment Program.

The Robert Pattinson-starrer is based on the Don DeLillo novel of the same name, and is currently filming in Toronto. Cosmopolis is a coproduction with Prospero Pictures (A Dangerous Method) and France’s Alfama Films

Also backed by the HG Fund is Ruba Nadda’s Inescapable, I’m Yours from I’m Yours Productions and screenwriter Leonard Farlinger, Pope Productions’ Newfoundland Beatdown from screenwriters Deanne Foley and Iain Macleod, and Stay from Submission Films, Amerique Films and Samson Films, along with screenwriter Wiebke von Carolsfeld.

“We are proud to be a part of the next films from some of Canada’s top directors and producers with the international clout and connections to release that vision,” says the Fund’s English-Language Program president, John Galway, in a statement. “The films are very well cast, with dynamic and interesting protagonists.”
