TSN rates well with Canada’s Juniors

As Canada plods ever onward in its quest to capture gold in the IIHF World Junior Championship, TSN continues to reap the ratings benefits.

Canada’s initial bout versus Russia on Boxing Day attracted 2.94 million viewers (BBM, 2+) – a 23% jump over last year’s Boxing Day ratings – while a follow-up match against the Czech Republic garnered 2.2 million viewers and a subsequent rout of Norway pulled in a more modest 1.88 million.

TSN has yet to release numbers for the New Years Eve shoot-out loss to the Swedes, or a hard-hitting, revenge-filled semi-final blowout of the American squad in which the forces of good prevailed.

Canada will face the Russian squad for gold on Wednesday night.
