CTV has hired veteran newspaper columnist Don Martin to host Power Play, its daily political talker on CTV News from Parliament Hill.

Martin, a long-time writer at the National Post and Calgary Herald, and a frequent TV pundit, will join CTV and fill the Power Play anchor chair, likely in mid-December.

“Don Martin is one of the most respected journalists on Parliament Hill,” Robert Hurst, president of CTV News, said Tuesday.

Martin replaces Tom Clark, who left CTV earlier this year after four decades with the network.
