Paperny Consumed for HGTV Canada

Here’s a twist: take stuff away from reality TV contestants, rather than hand the winner a trophy.

That’s the plan for the new HGTV Canada series Consumed! from indie producer Paperny Films, now shooting in Vancouver through June 2011.

The TV competition series has 13 British Columbia families or couples with hopelessly cluttered homes attempt to live with less stuff for 30 days.

The HGTV series, set for a summer 2011 launch, will follow the contestants as they whittle away their belongings to de-clutter their lives.

Hosting the Survivor-style series for pack-rats is professional organizer Jill Pollack (pictured), who will assist the contestants as they toss, donate or recycle belongings.

Brad Quenville is directing Consumed!, with Cal Shumiatcher and Trevor Hodgson producing.

David Paperny, Shumiatcher and Audrey Mehler are executive producing.
