• Corus Entertainment president and CEO John Cassaday is temporarily stepping in atop Corus Radio, and will replace outgoing John Hayes on Sept. 2. Doug Murphy, meanwhile, becomes president of Corus-owned studio Nelvana and EVP/GM of Corus Kids on Aug. 5, while his predecessor Scott Dyer takes over as CTO. Dyer will oversee Corus’ planned move to its new corporate headquarters and broadcast facility next year.

• Joanne Deer is now national director of communications and public policy at ACTRA.

• Mary Graziano has been promoted to manager of Canadian and international sales at the National Film Board. Also at the NFB, Chanelle Routhier has joined the distribution branch as manager of sales and market development, responsible for television, theatrical and online sales in the Canadian and Asia-Pacific markets.

• CBC has hired former NBC and TSN analyst Mike Milbury for Hockey Night in Canada. Hurdler Perdita Felicien, meanwhile, has joined the Ceeb’s team for the Beijing Olympics, having pulled out of the Games due to a foot injury.

• Former Montreal Canadiens forward Benoit Brunet is now an analyst for RDS’ coverage of the team’s regular season and playoff games for 2008/09. He replaces 10-year veteran Yvon Pedneault who left in June.

• Producer Christine Davis has returned to Toronto toonhouse Cuppa Coffee Studios, following stints at Sullivan Entertainment and Cookie Jar Entertainment. She will produce the second season of Rick and Steve the Happiest Gay Couple in All the World.

• Cream Productions has hired Jenn Kuzmyk as director of development for factual entertainment, seeking out new doc and lifestyle shows, starting Sept. 2.

• CTV Montreal has added Todd van der Heyden as co-anchor of its 6 p.m. newscast, joining Mutsumi Takahashi as of Aug. 11.
