CanWest has successfully staked new territory in new media, following the launch of its Financial Post Daily Podcast, which took the number one spot among business programs at iTunes.ca after its debut on Monday. The Post‘s inaugural mobile offering includes business and financial news programming, and is available free every weekday morning at 5 am. at www.financialpost.com.
The podcasts are produced in concert with London-based Daily Media — backed by sponsorship from techmaker Cisco — and follow several moves by CanWest to enhance the FP brand in advance of its centennial, including extensions of the online business resource with microsites such as FP Trading Desk and the Financial Post Timeline.
CanWest-owned dose.ca is also preparing to launch two podcasts — a three-times-weekly Celebrity Friends with Benefits gossip report and a 15-minute weekly review of movies and music called Detox.
