MoboVivo goes Wild

Following a deal closed recently with Wild TV, mobile content distributor MoboVivo is selling episodes of the digichannel’s hunting and fishing shows on its online web store for download to cell phones and iPods.

‘We obtained the first batch of programming from Wild TV, which is around 50 episodes, but more will be added,’ says Trevor Doerksen, founder and CEO of the Calgary-based distributor. ‘The episodes range from 22 to 44 minutes in length.

‘This is about our 30th content partner,’ he adds, pointing to other licensing deals with CHUM, CBC and Rogers.

MoboVivo is offering WildTV shows at $1.99 per episode, which can be downloaded to portable devices including laptops, cell phones and the Apple Video iPod.

Earlier this month, the company struck a deal with TVF International in the U.K. for 500 episodes of factual programming, including the environmental series Journey to Planet Earth.
