Cutting Class, Tipping Hand team on ultramarathon doc

Continue Playing follows Leo Vitelli’s journey from Major League Gaming to Canada’s only 200-mile race in the Rocky Mountains.

Toronto prodcos Cutting Class Media and Tipping Hand Media have teamed up to produce a documentary chronicling the transformation of a professional gamer into an ultramarathon athlete.

Continue Playing is directed by Bracken Burns, Cutting Class Media’s head of scripted, and written by Tipping Hand Media founder Damon McLean, who both also serve as producers. The doc follows Leo Vitelli’s journey from Major League Gaming to Canada’s only 200-mile race in the Rocky Mountains.

Production is currently underway in Alberta and scheduled to wrap in 2025.

Cutting Class has distribution rights to the doc, co-CEO Josh Bowen told Playback Daily. The film was fully financed through Tipping Hand and Cutting Class Distribution.

“This documentary touches upon many critical issues we’re seeing arise in our society today, especially around mental health and our cultural perceptions of masculinity,” said Harriet Luke, Cutting Class’ head of unscripted in a statement. “Continue Playing is a deeply personal and aspirational story that will resonate with a wide audience, and spark necessary conversations.”
