Four screenwriters have been selected to take part in the Atlantic Film Festival’s fifth annual script development project over the course of the summer.
Selected from a record number of 71 submissions, the four writers whose scripts will be workshopped are Warren Jefferies (for stop), Jean Dohaney (Come Back Paddy Reilly), Shandi Mitchell (Babba’s House) and Francois Cormier (Lazaro’s Crossing).
The four screenplays, all in their first drafts, will be developed in weekend workshops leading up to the 20th aff, beginning Sept. 15. On Sept. 17, the workshopped scripts will all be presented in their final versions at the Scripts Out Loud portion of the festival.
The aff will then pass the screenplays on to cbc and the Harold Greenberg Fund for funding consideration. *
