Toronto-based Boat Rocker has greenlit a spinoff of its animated preschool series Dino Ranch, with CBC/Radio-Canada and Warner Bros. Discovery on board as broadcast partners.
The 52 x 11-minute Dino Ranch: Island Explorers will launch on CBC, CBC Gem, CBC Kids YouTube, ICI TÉLÉ, ICI TOU.TV and Radio-Canada.ca in 2026. Warner Bros. Discovery’s Cartoonito will broadcast the show in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The series sees the Cassidy clan and their dinosaurs head to the mysterious Dino Island. Like the original series, Dino Ranch: Island Explorers is created by Matt Fernandes, produced by Industrial Brothers and Boat Rocker, with animation services provided by Jam Filled Entertainment.
Boat Rocker manages global franchise development for Dino Ranch. The company has had an ownership stake in Industrial Brothers since 2015.
In a statement , Jon Rutherford, Boat Rocker Studios’ president of global rights, franchise and content strategy, said Dino Ranch is “a key franchise for Boat Rocker,” with a focus “on continued worldwide expansion for the Dino Ranch brand across content sales, consumer products and digital.”
The original series, which was part of Boat Rocker’s 2024 MIPCOM slate, has been sold to more than 170 countries to date.
