* At newly created Alliance Atlantis Broadcasting, Phyllis Yaffe, former president of History Television and Showcase, becomes president.

* Lucille Veilleux has been appointed to the position of interim director general, film and television production at Quebec cultural funding and certification agency sodec. Veilleux was an independent producer (Vent d’Est), associate director general of the French Program at the National Film Board, and a member of the board of the TV-5 Quebec-Canada television consortium.
Veilleux replaces Suzanne Laverdiere, recently named head of drama at Radio-Canada.
* Richard Gauthier has been named vp human resources with Television Quatre Saisons. In the past 20 months, Gauthier negotiated five collective agreements during a major restructuring at the network.
* Judi Babcock has been appointed operations manager at Northwest Imaging & fx in Vancouver. Babcock most recently worked for Toronto’s Microsoft Digital Television Group.
* John Fremes, the head of Alliance Atlantis Communications’ genre division, Le Monde Entertainment, has resigned from the company. In a news release aac says, ‘Fremes is expected to announce plans for his own company shortly.’
