Ray Wise has been paired with the musician Jason Collett and first-time director Mike Stasko in the drama Iodine, which last month wrapped a 15-day shoot in northern Ontario, near Parry Sound. Stasko (Things to Do) also wrote and stars in the picture, playing a man searching for his missing father in rural Ontario, which might have something to do with the mystery man played by Wise (Reaper, 24).
The picture, produced by The Dot Film Company (Things to Do), also marks the acting debut of Collett, one of the core members of the Toronto band Broken Social Scene. Working with Wise – who has a knack for playing the disturbed and the disturbing – ‘has been a great step for us as a company,’ says exec producer Gerry Lattmann. ‘I couldn’t imagine anyone else playing the role.’
