House scribe joins Flashpoint

TV drama writer Pam Davis is back in Toronto for a two-month story editor gig on CTV/CBS’ Flashpoint before heading back to Los Angeles and a possible second season of the CBS mid-season drama Miami Medical.

The Canadian Film Centre grad completed a five-year stint as a writer on the hit Fox medical drama House before segueing to the story room on Jerry Bruckheimer’s one-hour drama about young medical professionals working in a trauma ward.

The first season of Miami Medical will bow on CBS Friday nights in April.

Davis tells Playback Daily that, while she remains under contract to Bruckheimer while Miami Medical is on hiatus and seeking a second-season order, the Hollywood producer and CBS gave her permission to moonlight on Flashpoint.

She added the Flashpoint gig gives her a rare chance to visit her hometown after working 50 weeks a year in the House story room under series creator and fellow Canadian David Shore.
