Canadian prodcos Scythia Films and Clique Pictures have teamed up with Santa Carla Films and distributor LevelFILM to produce the upcoming thriller Coming Soon.

Scythia’s Daniel Bekerman and Clique’s Lauren Grant are producers on the project alongside Santa Carla’s Daniel Quinn and Rory Halsall, and levelFILM’s David Hudakoc. The film, directed by Ante Kovac, and written by Kovac and Quinn, follows three friends investigating a string of murders paying homage to classic ’80s films. Ajay Friese (pictured, Lost In Space) is set to star and production is slated for later this year.

U.K. distribution outfit Altitude Films is handling international sales on the project, which is set to launch at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival. Altitude’s Will Clarke, Mike Runagall and Andy Mayson are executive producers on the project. Altitude will distribute the film in the U.K. while LevelFILM will distribute in Canada.

Bekerman has a number of films on his slate, including the recently-wrapped Falling, which marks Viggo Mortenson’s directorial debut, and the horror film The Friendship Game, starring Bella Thorne. Grant is also a producer on an untitled upcoming drama directed by Wendy Morgan and written by Kelly McCormack.
