Corus renews eight unscripted series

The renewals include Frantic Films' Backyard Builds, Great Pacific Media's Worst to First and Cineflix's Property Brothers.

propertybrothers_jonathan-drew-scottCorus Entertainment has renewed eight projects from its Canadian unscripted roster for its 2018/19 programming slate.

For HGTV Canada, the media co has ordered second seasons of Backyard Builds (14 x 30 minutes, Frantic Films), Save My Reno (14 x 30 minutes, Great Pacific Media) and Worst to First (10 x 60 minutes, Great Pacific Media) as well as a fifth season of Love It or List It Vancouver (26 x 60 minutes, Big Coat Media), a sixth season of Property Brothers: Buying and Selling (8 x 60 minutes, Cineflix) and a seventh season of Property Brothers (18 x 60 minutes, Cineflix).

Corus also renewed Carnival Eats (13 x 30 minutes, Alibi Entertainment) for a fifth season on Food Network Canada and Border Security: America’s Front Line (20 x 30 minutes, eOne) for a second season on Global.

The renewals come six weeks after Corus greenlit four new unscripted projects, including World Without (9 x 60 minutes), produced by Toronto’s Cream Productions. At the time, Corus also greenlit Big Rig Warriors (10 x 30 minutes, Attraction Images), Rust Valley Restorers (8 x 60 minutes, Mayhem Entertainment) and Stitched (12 x 60 minutes, Forté Entertainment).
