Digital media veteran Claude Galipeau has landed at Yahoo! Canada as country manager.

Galipeau will use his cross-platform digital expertise, mostly recently with Toronto-based social media agency Syncapse, to grow Yahoo’s business in Canada, based in Toronto.

He also completed earlier executive stints at Rogers Media, Astral Media, Alliance Atlantis Communications, the CBC and Salter Street Films.

“He has a proven record of leading teams to success in digital product, editorial and sales operations, and we believe he’s the perfect fit to drive our vision and grow Yahoo!’s business in Canada,” Mark Ellis, Yahoo! VP of North America sales, said in his own statement.
