Entertainment One senior vice president of factual TV programming Steven Silver has left the indie producer with a first-look film and TV deal in his pocket.
Silver was a long-time writer and director for Barna-Alper Productions and president of production before the indie producer was acquired in 2007 by E1.
Silver’s latest writer/director credit is The Bang Bang Club, a theatrical feature to bow next month at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Another TIFF title, Sturla Gunnarson’s Force of Nature: The David Suzuki Movie, was executive produced by Silver.
Silver’s new production shingle, Blue Ice Films, also to be run by Neil Tabatznik, will give E1 first dibs on feature films scripted and non-scripted TV projects in its pipeline.
