The pubcaster has also shifted the roles for other members of its unscripted programming team.
The overall growth in revenue was attributed to the company’s 2023 acquisition of U.S. toy company Melissa & Doug.
The company is now in advanced discussions with “major Canadian BDUs,” according to CEO Craig Thompson.
The opera company founder’s five-year term in the post begins in July.
The awards will be presented June 14 at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa.
During the quarter, Thunderbird had 14 programs in service production, which it attributed to the positive growth.
The award is intended to recognize members of the Canadian screen industry who have broken down barriers and created inclusion.
The slate includes series such as Northwoods Survival and Ghosting with Luke Hutchie and Matthew Finlan.
