A small digital services provider has declared war against Shaw Communications.
Toronto theater impresario Garth Drabinsky is free on bail, pending an appeal, after being sentenced Aug. 5 to seven years in jail for his role in the 1998 downfall of Livent. Justice Mary Lou Benotto of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice also sentenced Livent co-founder Myron Gottlieb to six years in prison.
Temple Street Productions has signed with Creative Artists Agency for representation in the U.S. The company has a number of shows on air in the U.S. and in international markets. Its drama Being Erica, currently shooting its second season for CBC, also runs on ABC-owned Soapnet as well as on Channel 4 in the U.K. and Australia’s ABC2. It has also seen its Queer as Folk and the kid-aimed Darcy’s Wild Life air on Showtime and Discovery Kids, respectively.
Coverage of a disaster turned to disaster when CTV cameraman Hugh Haugland and his pilot were killed in a helicopter crash in rural Quebec.
