filmmakers to produce compelling, locally reflective, social purpose documentaries and
documentary series set in B.C. and Alberta.
Since 2014, TELUS originals has invested more than $29 million, bringing over 410 projects to
screens across Canada and highlighting the diverse stories of British Columbia and Alberta.
TELUS originals’ award-winning films are available free on TELUS Optik TV channel 8, TELUS
Stream+, online at watch.telusoriginals.com and on YouTube, and in film festivals globally.
As part of the broader TELUS Content Production team, you’ll join a passionate collective of
creatives, strategists and community builders who are reimagining the future of Canadian and
Indigenous content.

Your work will spotlight and amplify untold B.C. and Alberta-based stories, support Canadian
documentarians, spark dialogue among audiences, and help strengthen Canadian and
Indigenous narrative sovereignties.
What you'll do: In this role, you'll:
- Contribute to the evolution of the TELUS originals marketing portfolio and lead all
aspects of the portfolio, with a keen focus on the discoverability of TELUS originals
films/series/video podcasts on our digital platforms, especially YouTube and Instagram.
- Work in coordination with the Local Content Sr. Manager of Content Merchandising to
design and implement an online viewership strategy for TELUS originals, with a focus
on YouTube.
- Develop, implement, test and report on digital campaigns that:
- Drive viewership and audience engagement of TELUS originals content on
YouTube and Instagram.
- Drive online audiences to subscribers/followers of our online channels.
- Oversee and provide input on the release plans of all TELUS original films/series by
working closely with TELUS originals funded producers, external vendors, and team
members and lead the films/series release and campaigns on TELUS platforms.
- Provide creative input on the marketing assets of TELUS original
film/series/video podcasts
- Work interdepartmentally to plan strategic digital campaigns around annual milestone
dates (ie. content promotion on awareness dates, programmatic and industry key dates)
- Advance the TELUS originals brand as one of Canada’s leading documentary programs
among mid-career to established Canadian documentarians. This includes leading the
annual update and implementation of the program-related marketing and
communications plan which includes:
- Updating the TELUS original program website and online catalogue;
- Issuing e-newsletters and Instagram posts;
- Supporting the development of materials for promotional events;
- Writing and issuing press releases to announce key program milestones;
- Updating program-related marketing assets, such as pull-up banners and online
graphics;
- Project manage the production of two annual promotional videos including a
program sizzle and annual highlights reel; and more.
- Lead the promotion of TELUS originals internally to TELUS team members. Work in
coordination with the Sr. Marketing Manager of TELUS STORYHIVE to promote TELUS
Content Production in the internal quarterly newsletter, year end wrap video, screenings
and content requests.
- Manage the annual TELUS originals marketing budget, including forecasting, tracking,
vendor payments and reporting.
- Manage vendors such as public relations agencies, graphic designers, video editors,
ensuring alignment with TELUS originals priorities.
- Contribute to the development of the marketing fields and dashboards in the TELUS
Content Production customer relationship management (CRM) tool.
- Continuously update the Producer Resource Hub, ensuring it remains a valuable and
current resource for TELUS originals funded teams.
- Track and analyze key performance metrics (eg. online campaigns, media coverage, film
festival selections, award wins, theatrical screenings, campaign results, and more) and
translate data into actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
- Present compelling performance reports in internal meetings, showcasing successes
and key learnings, driving continuous improvement.
- Identify and implement innovative solutions to streamline workflows and boost
efficiency.
- Stay at the forefront of digital marketing trends, audience viewership behaviors and
content platform evolution to inform long-term strategy.
What you bring:
You're a bold storyteller and results-driven digital strategist with a passion for social impact content. Your background blends entertainment marketing, digital channel management, and audience development—and you're equally at home analyzing campaign data as you are
crafting an engaging social media post.

You also have:
- 5+ years of experience developing and implementing digital marketing campaigns to
drive online engagement—preferably in film/TV or digital media — that foster viewership
and audience engagement on YouTube.
- Preferably also bring experience with YouTube discoverability and viewership strategy
development to support the portfolio’s evolution.
- Proven success leading the strategy, growth, audience engagement, and daily
management of a dynamic, video focused Instagram account.
- Experience managing program marketing budgets and external vendors (agencies,
graphic designers, video editors, public relations firms).
- Experience working collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders (including content
producers, publicists, media companies, marketing agencies, etc.) and overseeing the
roll-out of multiple projects (or films) at once.
- Strong project management skills, the ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced
environment, and ability to identify and implement process improvements.
- Exceptional inter-personal communication, writing, and presentation skills.
- Experience editing websites using a content management system.
