Super Channel readies Olympus

Super Channel will bow its latest original genre series Olympus, a Canada-U.K. copro from Vancouver’s Reunion Pictures and London’s Olympus TV, on Thursday, April 2 at 9 p.m., the pay network announced Tuesday.

Olympus, exclusive to Super Channel in Canada, was supported by the premium cable net with a pre-license fee,  Julie Di Cresce, director of Canadian programming at Super Channel, told Playback Daily.  It will bow on Syfy in the U.S. on the same day.

The 13-part mythological drama was shot in Vancouver, and tells the story of a young man named Hero (played by Tom York), on a quest to solve the riddle of the Gods and become immortal. Olympus also stars Sonya Cassidy, Sonita Henry, Graham Shiels and Matt Frewer.

Olympus was created by Nick Willing and will be distributed by London-based Great Point Media. Matthew O’Connor and Lisa Richardson serve as executive producers for Reunion Pictures, with Robert Halmi Jr. and Jim Reeve executive producing for Great Point Media.
