Toronto-based distributor Video Services Corp. has picked up the exclusive Canadian rights to Road Hard, an upcoming feature from American comedian Adam Carolla.
The comedy, inspired by Carolla’s own life, follows a comedian trying to revive his career by doing a tour of the stand-up circuit after his film and television work dries up. The cast for Road Hard includes Howie Mandel, Jay Mohr, David Koechner, Diane Farr, David Alan Grier and Illeane Douglas.
Road Hard will open in Toronto at the Carlton Cinema on April 10, to be followed by screenings in other Canadian cities. The film will have a day-and-date release via theatrical, cable, VOD providers and iTunes.
The distribution deal was negotiated by Jonathan Gross for Video Services Corp and Scott Kaplan for FilmBuff, which holds the rights for the film in the U.S. market.
