Elevation Pictures

Elevation Pictures will distribute the Matthew McConaughey-starrer Gold in Canada. The film is produced by New York-based Black Bear Pictures. Elevation Pictures has backing from U.S. film financier Teddy Schwarzman via his Black Bear Pictures shingle. Production is slated to start this June in Thailand, New York and New Mexico. The film will be directed by Stephen Gaghan and produced by Schwarzman via Black Bear Pictures and Michael Nozik via his Hwy61 banner. Writers Patrick Masset, John Zinman and McConaughey will also serve as producers on Gold.

9 Story Media Group

The 9 Story Media-distributed animated comedy series Get Ace has been green-lit for a second, 52-episode season. The series is produced by Australia’s Galaxy Pop, with season one broadcast on Australia’s Network Ten youth-focused channel, Eleven. 9 Story Media Group also recently sold Get Ace to ABC (Australia), TVNZ (New Zealand), TVE (Spain), E Junior (UAE) and Zoom (Israel).

Entertainment One Licensing

Entertainment One Licensing has added a host of new licensees for its preschool property Peppa Pig, including Amscan and Palamon. This spring, Amscan will launch a line of Peppa Pig party goods, such as paper and plastic tableware, invitations, thank you cards and party decorations. Ahead of Halloween, Palamon will also debut a line of Peppa Pig costumes and dress-up accessories, in addition to treat carriers such as pumpkin pals and plastic and paper treat bags. Other newly announced licensees include Scholastic and Candlewick Press, which will publish a line of Peppa Pig books, and Redan Publishing, which will release the Fun To Learn Peppa Pig magazine.
