Canadian indie distributor FilmOption has picked up the Canadian distribution rights to the psychological drama Steel by director Sven J. Matten.

The Canada-Germany coproduction is being shopped this week at the European Film Market in Berlin. Steel‘s all-Canadian cast includes Mimi Kuzyk, Chad Connell, David Cameron and Tamara  Gorski.

Steel, written by Matten and Melissa Kajpust, portrays a successful TV journalist on an emotional roller coaster when, to escape a deep depression, he creates a second identity to recapture his past.

Steel, a coproduction between DuMatt Entertainment and German partner Paradigma Entertainment, is produced by Jean du Toit and Matten.
