Indie producer marblemedia six months ago hired Roberto Alcantara to fill the new position of head of primetime scripted development.
Now the multiplatform producer has stepped up its push into primetime by hiring former Our House Media executive Sean Connolly to fill the new role of VP, primetime unscripted development.
Connolly served as VP of development at Our House Media, and before that completed executive stints at Red Apple Entertainment, Proper Television and his own indie shingle Gorilla Media.
His TV credits include Make The Politician Work for the CBC, Junk Raiders, Newlywed, Nearly Dead and Love Hunters.
Connolly will report to marblemedia co-CEO and executive producer Matt Hornburg as he builds a slate of unscripted projects and forges ties with Canadian and international producers, format holders and broadcasters.
He will attend Realscreen with marblemedia with an eye to new unscripted development opportunities.
Marblemedia is best known on the unscripted front for series like Japanizi: Going, Going, Gong!, a Japanese-style family game show, Splatalot!, a a medieval-themed reality TV game show, and What’s In a Name?, about the history of household names.
