Breakthrough Films & Television has hired Alethea Robinson as its head of marketing and communications, a new position that will see the former Decode exec oversee all corporate branding and marketing at the Toronto company, plus promotion of its various television properties.
Robinson will report to Breakthrough partner Peter Williamson, and arrives amid the promotions of three Breakthrough staff. Amy Marcella has been upped to supervising producer at BF&T, in charge of all live-action properties, while Stephanie van Bruggen steps up to the same post at Breakthrough Animation.
Marcella was previously a line producer and worked on titles including the recent doc series Shaye and Kenny vs. Spenny. Van Bruggen, also a former line producer, will now steer titles including Captain Flamingo, Atomic Betty and the company’s new adult toon series, Producing Emily.
Also at Breakthrough, Paul Nash has been promoted to art director, in charge of ad campaigns, promo and marketing material.
