Maple teams up with Gold Circle

Maple Pictures and Gold Circle Films have inked a multi-year output deal, beginning with the romantic comedy Chilled in Miami, starring Renée Zellweger and Harry Connick Jr., and the thriller The New Daughter, starring Kevin Costner.

The deal was announced Friday by Maple co-presidents Laurie May and Brad Pelman, and Gold Circle partners Paul Brooks and Scott Niemeyer.

‘We are thrilled to be in business with Paul and Scott. Gold Circle’s films have established resonance in the marketplace for their consistent box office success, broad audience appeal and unique creative signature,’ commented May in a release.

‘Maple Pictures has achieved tremendous distribution clout in the two years since they were founded, and our films could not be in better hands,’ added Niemeyer.

Gold Circle’s My Big Fat Greek Wedding became the highest-grossing romantic comedy of all time in 2002.
