Jean-Marc Vallee looks like he has his next movie to shoot stateside after Demolition.

The Canadian director has boarded Get It While You Can, the Janis Joplin biopic to star Amy Adams and which unites Vallee with the creative team behind Dallas Buyers Club.

Craig Borten and Melissa Wallack are negotiating to rewrite the long-gestating project that earlier had Lee Daniels and Fernando Meirelles on board as possible directors.

The Canadian director just helmed Jake Gyllenhaal and Naomi Watts in Demolition and Reese Witherspoon in Wild, which opens on wide release on Dec. 5.

Amy Adams is also to star in Story of Your Life, Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi thriller for FilmNation that Paramount will release in North America.
