Deals: Seville, IMAX, eOne

Seville International
Seville International, a sales arm of Entertainment One, has picked up the international rights to Four Knights Films’ The Dark Horse. The New Zealand film, from writer-director James Napier Robertson, stars Cliff Curtis, with James Rolleston, Kirk Torrance and Wayne Hapi rounding out the cast. The film received funding from the New Zealand Film Commission, NZ on Air and Arama Pictures, as well as financing from Fulcrum Finances. Tom Hern produced The Dark Horse for Four Knights Film, along with Robertson and Jim Marbrook, who served as co-producers. Timothy White and Cliff Curtis executive produced the project. The deal for The Dark Horse was negotiated by eOne Films International president Harold van Lier for Seville International, and Hern for Four Knights Film.

IMAX
Toronto-based IMAX and AMC Entertainment Holdings have expanded their existing joint-revenue sharing agreement with 11 new IMAX theatres. The new theatres will be built in 2015 in U.S. cities that include New York, Newark, Chicago and Phoenix. All of the new theatres will have a 13-year lease from the date of installation. With this agreement, AMC is now the exhibitor for 159 IMAX theatres across North America.

eOne
Halt and Catch Fire, an AMC Studios series distributed internationally by Entertainment One Television, has been renewed for a second season. eOne Television controls the distribution rights for the series as part of its exclusive multi-year output agreement with AMC Networks to handle all of the U.S. net’s original scripted series. Jonathan Lisco serves as showrunner on the series, which was created by Chris Cantwell and Chris Rogers.
