Entertainment One revealed its newest face Tuesday, naming Rainer Grupe as VP of filmed entertainment.
Grupe will work on the Toronto distributor’s international expansion plans and will oversee overseas content strategies for territories including the U.S, the U.K. and Benelux — the economic union of Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
Grupe was previously in sales and acquisition for PolyGram Film International in London and at Germany’s Senator Film AG.
‘Rainer has a vast amount of experience and high level contacts in buying and selling movies on an international level and thoroughly understands this market inside out,’ said Entertainment One president Patrice Théroux in a statement.
Rainer also produced 2001’s Buffalo Soldiers and handled the rights for the George Michael bio-doc A Different Story.
