David Cronenberg’s Maps to the Stars will get its U.S. premiere at the upcoming New York Film Festival, after a North American premiere in Toronto.
The Canada-Germany coproduction to be released by Entertainment One after it bowed in Cannes was one of 33 titles unveiled Wednesday for the 52nd edition of the NYFF.
Maps to the Stars gained attention when Julianne Moore won the best actress award at Cannes for her performance opposite Robert Pattinson, John Cusack, Olivia Williams, Evan Bird and Mia Wasikowska.
Elsewhere, the San Sebastian Film Festival booked two Canadian titles for its official competition.
Maxime Giroux’s third feature, Felix and Meira, and Chilean director Cristian Jiménez’s La Voz En Off, a Canada-Chile-France coproduction, will both compete for the Golden Shell at the Spanish festival.
And Xavier Dolan’s Mommy, a Cannes award winner, will compete for the audience award in San Sebastian’s Pearl sidebar.
