The closing of the DHX-Bell Media deal for the Family and Disney channels has prompted an executive shuffle at DHX.
The Halifax-based broadcaster and producer is creating a new division, DHX Television, comprising Family Channel, Disney XD, and English and French language Disney Junior channels.
DHX Media CEO Michael Donovan also has a new title, executive chairman.
In his new role, Donovan will direct overall strategy for DHX as Dana Landry is promoted from chief financial officer to CEO.
Keith Abriel replaces Landry as CFO, and Michael Hirsh, previously executive chairman, becomes vice-chairman.
Elsewhere, Steven DeNure remains president and COO of DHX, overseeing its overall operations, while DeNure also adds oversight of DHX Television to his duties.
According to a spokesperson for DHX, most of the company’s Toronto operations are being consolidated in a new office based out of the Queen’s Quay Terminal building on the waterfront. The newly acquired channels are also moving to the Queen’s Quay building.
