• Comedy Network and Space VP Brent Haynes is leaving the fold at CTVglobemedia, and will exit the network in May after 10 years in its cable channels. Word has it that he’s going to New York to work for MTV, though at press time, neither side was able to confirm.

• Canwest Broadcasting has hired PJ Tarasuk to make stars out of its homegrown performers as its talent manager. The new position will see the entertainment and brand consultant work with content and marketing departments to ‘raise the profile of the network’s talent and the brands with which they are affiliated.’

• Barb Matheson is the new director of publicity and communications for Maximum Films’ and Seville Pictures’ new joint theatrical release team. Matheson joins after a stint with Odeon Films. She was also previously communications manager for CHUM.

• Matthew Hays and Kathleen Mullen are now programmers at the Toronto International Film Festival. Hays, a Montreal-based critic, journalist and Playback contributor, has joined the Canadian feature team, while festival circuit vet Mullen will work on the festival’s Short Cuts Canada program.

• The Calgary International Film Festival has added four new members to its board of directors: Calgary Economic Development commissioner of film, television and creative industries Luke Azevedo, Redpoint Media Group EVP Gary Davies, as well as Tracy Mackett and Carol Ryder.

• Yvon Bélanger is now a part-time member of the board at Telefilm Canada.

• Eastman Kodak Company has promoted Kimberly Snyder to president and GM of entertainment imaging. Ann Turner, meanwhile, moves up to CMO and VP of its film, photofinishing and entertainment group, while Michael Morelli is now VP and GM of its motion picture business in North and South America.
