Toronto-based Alibi Entertainment has signed a first-look deal with Natalie Metcalfe and Christian Vangel Smith.
Metcalfe (pictured right) created and produced the 6 x 30-minute Crave series Made for TV with Boman Martinez-Reid, which streamed on the Roku Channel in the U.S. It follows Canadian content creator and TikTok star Martinez-Reid as he tries to transition into the world of television with the help of celebrity advisors.
Smith (pictured left) is a longtime creative partner of Metcalfe’s, via their YouTube channel Christian & Nat as well as contributing to the Crave series. His debut feature film, Surfacing, starring Damian Romeo and Cindy Sampson, is set to head to the festival circuit later this year.
The pair are currently in “late-stage development” on three series. According to Alibi president and executive director James Hyslop, the three series are Morning Zoo, BoomMates and Dental Records.
The deal was officially signed on March 11, said Hyslop.
