Filthy Gorgeous: The Bob Guccione Story director Barry Avrich (pictured) is among 11 Canadian filmmakers to receive funding for short documentary projects from Bell Media’s BravoFACTUAL fund.
During an April 15 meeting, the BravoFACTUAL jury selected 11 projects from a pool of 126 applicants to receive a total of $473,000 in financing.
The recipients are:

Synapse Dance – Karen Suzuki
Ron Taylor – Drew Taylor
A Lesson to You All – Charlie Tyrell
Meanwhile, BravoFACT will host a panel during the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival in Toronto on April 28 for aspiring docmakers interested in applying for funding. Consultants Richard Crouse and Bob Culbert will walk attendees through the process and offer tips for a successful proposal.
The next submission deadline for BravoFACTUAL is Sept. 8.
