Chris Haddock has lost his CEO to Brent Butt, who on Tuesday hired Laura Lightbown at his Sparrow Media. Lightbown is now executive producer and VP of business affairs at the Vancouver shop, where she will have a hand in development, production and corporate affairs for film, TV, print and other projects.

Butt is preparing to wrap his Corner Gas next year, though there is talk of new projects from him and his team, most likely to be aimed at CTV and Comedy Network.

‘There are several great opportunities being presented to me right now, and I know how important it is to have a smart, experienced person helping to navigate the waters,’ said Butt in a statement. ‘Laura is that person.’

Lightbown was CEO at Haddock from 2002, where her name was attached to titles including the Da Vinci and Intelligence series and the recent do-gooder doc show 4Real. She was among the producers who won a best MOW Gemini for 1999’s Milgaard.
