CTV Montreal has a new man at the top of its news team, naming Jed Kahane as director of news and public affairs.
Kahane will oversee all aspects of the Montreal newscast, starting this August, and moves over from his post as Montreal bureau chief for CTV’s National News, a post he held since 2000. He’s been with CTV since 1997 after leaving CBC’s The National.
‘I am very excited about this opportunity,’ Kahane said in a statement. ‘CTV Montreal is a valued institution in the community where I’ve lived almost my entire life, and the chance to put my passion for journalism even more directly at the service of my fellow Quebecers is a chance I wouldn’t miss.’
Kahane brings more than 20 years experience to the post, having covered stories from the ’95 Quebec referendum to Hurricane Katrina.
