Syfy is canceling Being Human, an original series for the U.S. channel made by Canadian indie Muse Entertainment, after the fourth season.
“Showrunner Anna Fricke and the talented producers, writers, cast and crew have done an amazing job bringing this show to life over the past four seasons and we sincerely thank them and the series’ production company Muse Entertainment for their hard work,” the NBC Universal network said in a statement Tuesday.
“They’ve saved the best for last with the final six episodes that revisit the story’s beginning, leading to a not-to-be-missed send-off for Aidan, Sally, Josh and Nora,” the statement added.
Being Human, which also airs on Space in Canada, will end with a finale on Syfy on April 7.
The U.S. series, a remake for Syfy of the British drama of the same name, stars Sam Witwer, Meaghan Rath, Sam Huntington and Kristen Hager as vampire Aidan, ghost Sally and werewolves Josh and Nora.
Together they struggle to suppress their supernatural secrets and temptations and live their lives as close to normal as possible.
Being Human was created by Toby Whithouse and produced by Touchpaper.
Executive producers of the Syfy drama are Michael Prupas, Anna Fricke, who is both writer and showrunner, and Rob Pursey and Toby Whithouse.
Irene Litinsky (Human Trafficking, The Phantom) produces.
