Flashpoint stayed at number one for a second consecutive week on Friday, winning the night on both CTV and CBS despite a drop in its numbers.
On CTV, Flashpoint scored 908,000 viewers at 10 p.m., climbing again in its second half hour to peak at 927,000. The Toronto-set show about elite cops premiered July 11 with a strong 1.1 million viewers, a rarity given the challenging timeslot and summertime debut. (All numbers 2+.)
In addition, the show is the number two download on iTunes Canada among TV fare, according to CTV. Flashpoint is produced by Anne Marie La Traverse and Bill Mustos through their respective Toronto-based prodcos Pink Sky Entertainment and Avamar Entertainment.
South of the border, the series won the night for CBS with an average 7.1 million viewers, down from the eight million Americans that tuned in for its premiere. The show airs opposite 20/20 and Dateline on ABC and NBC, respectively, and across from Friday Night Lights on Global.
Speaking to reporters at the Television Critics Association press tour on Friday, CBS Entertainment president Nina Tassler was quoted as saying the network is ‘pleased’ with the numbers, adding that it might be interested in another season of Flashpoint beyond its summer run.
