• Entertainment One has added Lara Thompson as SVP of worldwide acquisitions. She will report directly to E1 film president Patrice Théroux. Thompson, who formerly held a similar post at Sony Pictures Worldwide, will be responsible for acquiring projects for Canada, the U.K., Holland, Belgium and for U.S. home video.

• MTV has tapped Brent Haynes as its SVP of series development on the east coast, confirming rumors that the longtime Comedy Network exec was moving to the U.S. cabler after his departure from the CTV fold in April. Haynes will be based in New York and will focus on development of reality and scripted fare to complement MTV’s programming slate on the west coast.

• Michael A. McLaughlin is now head of sales and sponsorship at High Fidelity HDTV, coming over from an EVP post at Omnicom Media Group.
