Spike TV options Muse’s Tut miniseries

U.S. network Spike TV has optioned Muse Entertainment’s as-yet-unproduced miniseries Tut, that tells the story of King Tutankhamun, the youngest Pharaoh who ruled ancient Egypt.

If greenlit, the six-part series will be an “action-packed series combining the drama of power, political backstabbing, war and murder,” according to a release from Montreal-based Muse, following Tut’s rise to glory and the enigma surrounding his death.

Tut was developed by Muse’s Joel S. Rice (Cyberbully) and Michael Prupas, with Greg Gugliotta, Michael Vickerman, Bradley Bredeweg and Peter Paige, and is written by Bredeweg and Paige.

The series will be exec-produced by Rice (head of Muse Entertainment U.S. in L.A.), Prupas (Muse Entertainment president and CEO), Gugliotta and Vickerman.
