Netflix expands PBS programming for Canada, U.S.

Netflix has inked an expanded multi-year licensing deal with PBS Distribution to feature more of its programming for Netflix members in Canada and the U.S.

The latest deal includes all seasons of U.K. murder mystery series The Bletchley Circle, kids series Wild Kratts, Caillou and Arthur, Ken Burns documentaries Prohibition and The Central Park Five, and past seasons of non-fiction series Nova and Secrets of the Dead.

Netflix said Wednesday that it will also become the exclusive SVOD home of PBS Kids preschool series Super Why! in 2014.

“While PBS stations will always be the first place to see our programming, this agreement with Netflix exposes our shows to new audiences and further expands PBS’ presence across all media platforms,” said PBS Digital GM Jason Seiken in a statement.
