Veteran news anchor Tom Clark has bid farewell to his job as CTV Washington bureau chief, and is set to return to Ottawa to front the daily political program On the Hill.
Clark will be taking over from CTV parliamentary correspondent Graham Richardson, who had been filling in since December when the 5 p.m. political program — then known as Mike Duffy Live — was renamed. Duffy left his post after he was appointed to the Senate.
An official start date for Clark’s debut on the program has yet to be determined, though he was to be in Ottawa on Monday when Parliament resumed.
‘With his long history of covering politics in Canada and his strong connections on Parliament Hill, he is an excellent choice for this position,’ commented president of CTV News Robert Hurst in a release.
In addition to On the Hill, Clark will anchor CTV Newsnet specials and will continue as backup anchor for CTV National News with Lloyd Robertson.
CTV on Monday named Paul Workman as Clark’s replacement in Washington.
