After departing as president and CEO of PS Production Services, Douglas Barrett has surfaced to launch barcode SDG, a strategic advisory firm for Canadian industry players.

“When PS board chair Charlie Allen and I first initiated the PS search and competitive bidding process over a year ago, I indicated that with the conclusion of a sale I wanted to explore new professional horizons,” said Barrett in a statement Wednesday.

“I have had many wonderful years at PS, and seven as its CEO but, with Doug Dales passing in 2010, I knew it was time for something new,” he added.

Barrett is a former partner at the Toronto law firm McMillan Binch and from 2004 to 2008 was chair of the Canadian Television Fund.
