Film accelerator CineCoup unveils top 15

Canadian film accelerator CineCoup Wednesday night unveiled the top 15 projects at events in Cineplex theatres in Vancouver, Edmonton, Regina, Toronto and Halifax.

Narrowed down from an initial 90 projects, the filmmaking teams have been participating in a series of marketing and filmmaking “missions” as part of a social engagement funnel to build buzz for and package their projects.

The top 10 projects will be shopped to international buyers and sales agents in Cannes during this month’s Cannes Film Festival by CineCoup president of distribution and sales Brad Pelman.

The top five and the top project, which will receive up to $1 million in production financing and a guaranteed release in Cineplex theatres, will be announced at the Banff World Media Festival.
