Toronto prodco RTR Media is off to a busy 2013 with a slew of new productions on its slate, including the eighth-season renewal and format expansion of its hit Scott McGillivray-hosted Income Property series to a full one hour from its previous 30-minute length.
The full one-hour version is being rolled out with its seventh season on HGTV U.S. starting Tuesday and HGTV Canada starting Thursday. Income Property features McGillivray (who is also a co-executive producer and co-owner of the series) taking potential homeowners through a house hunt for a possible income property before overhauling the space into a dream rental suite.
Production on the eighth season will begin next month.
RTR Media also announce Monday that its newest series Lost and Sold has been green lit and will premiere on Slice this fall. Lost and Sold is a treasure hunt-auction series that follows an underground subculture of a regular group of buyers who wheel and deal in pursuit of lost items to flip for surprising and jaw dropping profit.
Meanwhile, its Citizen Skull Inc. co-produced, Mother of The Bride premiered on Slice earlier this month (the production on which was previously reported). It is also at work on the previously reported BBQ Crawl (10 x 30 mins), a foodie road-trip show set to air on Travel + Escape this May.
