Upfronts ’25: Rogers unveils HGTV, Food Network originals slate

The slate includes a new project featuring Drew and Jonathan Scott as well as a Canadian edition of the ITV Studios format Come Dine with Me.

Rogers Sports & Media has unveiled its HGTV and Food Network Canadian originals slate for 2025-26, including projects from Scott Brothers Entertainment, Blink49 Studios and RTR Media.

The slate consists of 11 new unscripted titles, representing 115 hours of programming for the Rogers Sports & Media channels and Citytv+, that will begin premiering this fall.

 

HGTV

The broadcaster announced seven series for HGTV ahead of its virtual upfront presentation on Tuesday (June 3), including three Canadian originals from Toronto-based Scott Brothers Entertainment.

Among those is a project starring Drew and Jonathan Scott (pictured bottom left) themselves under the working title Property Brothers: Commitment Issues (14 x 60 minutes). Produced by their company along with Warner Bros. Discovery, the series follows the brothers as they help homeowners in the purchase of their dream homes before beginning the renovation process. Production is set for this summer and fall.

Scott Brothers Entertainment is also behind The Emily Michelle Project (8 x 60 minutes). In production this summer, it follows the titular interior designer (pictured top right) as she helps people achieve their dream homes without breaking the bank.

Rounding out the Scott Brothers’ productions is the reality competition series Top of the Block (40 x 30 minutes). In production this summer and distributed by Cineflix Rights, the series sees homeowners in competition attempting to prove they have the best house on the block.

Next is a Canadian spin on the U.S. hit Home Town Takeover from Toronto-based RTR Media.

Home Town Takeover Canada (8 x 60 minutes) enters production in 2026 and follows a complete small-town revitalization, transforming homes, businesses and public spaces.

RTR Media is also behind another small town-focused series called The County (10 x 60 minutes), which goes into production this summer. The docuseries stars Sarah Keenleyside (pictured top left) as she builds her business and home from scratch in Prince Edward County, Ont.

Small Town Escapes with Colin & Justin (20 x 30 minutes) rounds out the HGTV Canadian originals. From Halifax’s Ocean Entertainment and set for production this summer and fall, the three house-format follows the Scottish interior designing duo helping homeowners escape to a small town.

HGTV will also feature a new project with interior designer Sarah Richardson, which will have its details revealed in the coming months.

Food Network

A new project from Toronto’s Blink49 Studios is among the four series announced for the Food Network.

Come Dine with Me Canada  (60 x 30 minutes) is in production this summer and is based on the format from ITV Studios. It follows five amateur chefs hosting dinner parties in their homes, trying to impress their fellow contestants.

The slate also includes David Rocco’s Eating Dirty  (13 x 30 minutes), in post-production with his Toronto-based Rockhead Entertainment. The series follows the eponymous chef and host as he embarks on a food-fueled journey through Italy.

Andy’s East Coast Kitchen Crawl (12 x 30), from Toronto’s Proper Television features MasterChef Canada finalist Andy Hay (pictured bottom right) as he explores the essence of east coast cooking. It goes into production this summer.

The final new project on Food Network’s slate is Bake Master Battle (8 x 60 minutes). In production this August, the bake-off competition confectionary masters showcasing their talents in seasonal challenges. Dina Pugliese is the series’ host, judging alongside baking expert April Julian (Is It Cake?).
