Will Arnett to get Banff fest distinction award

Actor and comedian Will Arnett has been tapped to receive the Canadian Award of Distinction at June’s Banff World Media Festival.

With the accolade Arnett joins past recipients including Paul Haggis, Howie Mandel, Erick McCormack and Martin Short for the Canuck-only award.

Arnett will accept the honor at the annual Rockie Awards Gala during the festival June 9 to 12 run.

The award is presented to a Canadian whose body of work exemplifies outstanding achievement in the entertainment industry. Arnett stars in the NBC/CTV comedy Up All Night opposite Christina Applegate and Maya Rudolph, and had major roles in Arrested Development and 30 Rock.

“I’m very thrilled to be honored by Banff and to be included in the list of other Eh-List Canadian artists,” said Arnett, in a statement.
