Additional Forgive Me cast announced

Additional casting was announced Wednesday for half-hour drama series Forgive Me, an original production from national pay TV network Super Channel and produced by Halifax-based Emotion Pictures.

The 12-ep series is written and directed by Thom Fitzgerald in his series television debut.

Joining previously announced series regulars Mike Mcleod and John Dunsworth, Jane Alexander, Olympia Dukakis and Brenda Fricker are on board in guest starring roles.

Dukakis and Fricker also starred in Fitzgerald’s recent feature film, Cloudburst, which won grand jury awards at the Edmonton International Film Festival in 2011 and the Atlanta Film Festival in 2012.

Hugh Thompson, Jeremy Akerman, Craig Layton, Naomi-Joy Blackhall-Butler and Brian MacQuarrie will also make appearances in the series.

Forgive Me focuses on Mcleod as a young priest who must deal with his congregants’ confessions while concealing his own secrets. Dunsworth stars as his prelate and confidante.

The series is produced by Doug Pettigrew and Fitzgerald of Emotion Pictures, in association with Super Channel, with participation of the Canada Media Fund.

Forgive Me is slated to premiere on Super Channel in spring 2013.
