The Shortsnonstop Mobile Movie Festival in 2013 will expand its categories to include web series episodes, it was announced Tuesday.
Content creators will be able to submit one episode of an existing web series for each festival period, to be eligible for a $1500 cash prize.
Also newly added is a web series pilot sub-category, for web series that seek development assistance.
In place of the Audience Award prize, which going forward will be discontinued, iThentic will instead offer one content creator per prize period development assistance through script consultation and advice on creating a pitch package.
Elsewhere, the U.K.’s Tom Ransom was announced as the latest Shortsnonstop grand prize winner for his film The Art of Stand-up (pictured), about backstage back-stabbing at a comedy club.
Ransom receives a $1,500 cash prize, and his film will be available online at iThentic.com, on the company’s YouTube channel and additional distribution platforms.
April Heather of the U.S. received the Audience Award, an iPad, for her film I’ll Be Fine.
The next prize period deadline for the year-round film festival is Feb. 15, 2013.
